Many factors can cause nosebleeds, because the mucous membrane of the nose is very delicate and vulnerable: the baby fell, picked his nose, and in the summer it usually happens due to overheating. Small single nosebleeds do not pose a health risk, but parents need to know how to behave if a child has a nosebleed.KEEP CALM WITH NOSE BLEEDSI noticed that the child had a nosebleed, first of all, don't panic yourself! This situation is not a pleasant one, but seeing that the parents are scared, the child will be even more scared and the situation will worsen. Act clearly and calmly, do not hesitate. First of all, try to calm down yourself and calm the baby down, for example with the phrase "Don't worry. It's not scary. It happens to everyone. It will pass now - I will help you."

FIRST AID1. Sit the child down, and do not lay him on his back - otherwise the blood will flow down the back wall of the throat. This, first of all, can create the illusion that everything is over. Secondly, it can cause vomiting in the child. In a sitting position, blood will flow out of the nose naturally. 2. Ask the child to blow his nose - only very carefully! Blood clots do not allow the mucosa to contract, supporting bleeding. 3. Apply something cool to the child's nose. If you are at home - ice from the freezer (only through a napkin!), a bottle of kefir from the refrigerator, etc. d. If you are out for a walk - keys, phone, handkerchief soaked in water.

4. Roll up a turunda from gauze or cotton wool, moisten it in a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide and insert it into the front part of the nose in the nostril where the blood came from, pinch the other nostril with your thumb. If the bleeding is from both nostrils, enter turunds into both. If you are not at home, you can use a handkerchief folded into a bundle as a turunda. 5. If the bleeding occurred at home, put any cold drops in the nose. Usually the bleeding passes quickly and the child is already ready for new adventures. Ask him to sit next to you, turn on cartoons, read a book, for the first half an hour, yes, for sure, the child should not run and jump, he needs peace.

WHEN DOCTOR'S HELP IS NECESSARY
- If the bleeding does not stop, go to the hospital urgently!
- If the bleeding is caused by a foreign body that the baby stuck in the nose, do not try to get it out yourself: it can move and get into the larynx, causing suffocation. Urgently call an ambulance!
- If the bleeding recurs often, be sure to consult a pediatrician. The doctor will send you to take tests to find out the causes of frequent nosebleeds.
PREVENTION OF NOSE BLEEDING- A panama or a scarf - any headgear will serve as a prevention of such conditions. - Make sure that the baby plays in the shade, and in the hottest hours, take the child out into the cool. - Don't let the child pick his nose! The heat dries out the delicate mucous membrane, under which a network of blood vessels is located very close to the surface. - Do not let the baby out of sight: bleeding often occurs when falling during mobile games or from a height.
