Children's games for the development of mathematical abilities

Content
ToggleWhy do some children easily determine how many apples Ola has left if she bought 10 and ate 3, while others puff for a long time over simple examples and still give the wrong answer? Maybe they didn't play the right games with them.Mathematical abilities are determined by the individual structure of the brain, genes, and social prerequisites. Modern studies have shown that even half-year-old babies can show different interest in arithmetic (babies were shown pictures on the screen with objects whose quantity changed, but not all children noticed the changes).
However, even if a child does not have a penchant for mathematics, he may well get an A in school in this subject. The main thing is to engage in the development of the ego's mathematical intelligence in time.
If the child has the makings of a mathematical genius, it is simply necessary to create the conditions for their further development. A conclusion is drawn: it is possible and necessary to develop mathematical intelligence in every child! Moreover, so that the child has fun and is interesting in the classes.
GAMES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF MATHEMATICAL INTELLIGENCE
"GUESS WHO?" GUESS WHAT?”
Ask the child questions, describing the significant properties of objects, animals or people. "Guess who I guessed: red-haired, cunning, fluffy. Who is this? That's right, bald. And who is small, serial, with long ears? Of course, a bunny! And what is white, cold, fluffy? Yes, snow."
When the child understands the principle of the game, offer him to try to tell you similar riddles. The game promotes the development of logical thinking in children.
"HOUSE"
Cut out several colored circles from colored cardboard. Offer the baby to choose a circle of his favorite color. This will be his house (put the circle on the table). Your house, for example, is blue. Let the baby place it to the right of his house. And papin, green, on the left. Yellow, grandmother's house, was built to the left of my mother's house. Where should I put the yellow circle?
Ask whose house is between dad's and grandma's, whose house is after grandma's. Be sure to praise and encourage the baby during play. This game is aimed at the formation of spatial representations, the development of logical thinking, attention, and memory.

"FIND THE DIFFERENCES"
The simplest game, which is very much loved by children, is also an excellent means of developing mathematical intelligence, because it trains attention and perseverance. It is good if the pictures that you offer the child for this game differ precisely in the number of objects. For example, in the hands of a girl in one picture there are 5 flowers, in the other - 7, in one picture there are 3 birds on a branch, and in the other - 4. It is easy to draw such developing cards yourself.
"LET'S COUNT EVERYTHING IN ORDER"
To form and consolidate the concept of number, it is useful to count together with the baby everything that falls into his field of vision. You can count the steps on the stairs, the red cars on the way to the garden, the number of characters in the book. Ask the child to show the number he got on his fingers, and if he doesn't have enough fingers, on counting sticks, buttons or any other objects. Ask the child abstract questions to compare quantities, for example: "Which is more in the room - shelves with books or boxes with toys?" Wooden cubes or pencils?"

"GEOMETRY IN THE PALMS"
While preparing dinner, you can introduce the baby to geometric shapes. You will need ordinary matches or dry macaroni. Show the child how you can make a triangle, a rhombus, a square, a trapezoid from these sticks. Together, count the angles and sides of these figures. When the baby is sufficiently trained in laying out simple figures, complicate the task by asking the child to make a triangle with a side of 2 matches, a square with a side of 4 matches, a triangle with sides of 3 vermicelli. Let the child try to make several different shapes from the same amount of matches, for example, a rhombus and a square.
