How to learn not to worry about the child?
After the birth of a child, many women notice changes in their lives. There are pleasant moments when spending time with a child, but with it come worries, greater responsibility, and as a result, fears.
Fear for the child is a peculiar instinct. However, many women complain that these fears become unbearable, the imagination constantly draws frightening pictures. Oddly enough, this is characteristic of many, even, at first glance, the most calm and balanced.

Similar fear is connected with our future, which scares us with uncertainty and uncertainty in the positive end. One negative experience is enough for a young mother to succumb to the constant expectation of something bad. The simple advice "think about the good" does not work, and troubling thoughts never leave consciousness.
In fact, this advice is quite effective. You really need to think about the good when negative thoughts take control of you. We offer you six consecutive steps to suppress scary thoughts.

Step 1. Creating a generalized line of the future
Take a simple event that repeats itself. For example, brushing your teeth.
Put a marker on the floor - this is the point of your present. Where will you place markers on the floor corresponding to brushing your teeth in a week, two weeks, a month, two months, six months? Mentally connect all these points with a single line. This is the generalized line of the future.
Step 2. Picture of a negative consequence
Imagine the image of a terrible event for you in the form of a picture. Mentally take this unpleasant picture in your hands and release it over the generalized line of the future. Mark the point where it will land with a marker.
Then rate your level of anxiety on a scale from 1 to 10.

Step 3. Picture of a positive result
Now create an image of a positive course of events with a happy ending. Imagine yourself with a child, where you are sure that everything is fine, and it will continue to be so. Similar to the previous point, take a positive picture in your hands and release it over the generalized line of the future. Place the marker where the positive image will land.
Step 4. Association with a positive picture
Leave the point of the present and walk along the generalized line of the future to the place where the positive picture landed. At this stage, plunge into a pleasant and peaceful future. See everything that is happening, feel all the feelings. Pay attention to what you are doing, how and with whom you are talking, where your child is. Feel calm and self-confidence that everything is in order. Enjoy everything you see for a while.

Step 5. Elimination of expected catastrophes
Continuing to stay on the marker of the positive picture, look from there at the image of the negative. From the perspective of the desired future, it becomes clear that negative expectations have no power over you. You will see how the image of the negative drawing begins to crack and collapse. Soon it will become transparent and dissolve completely or turn into a pile of dust. Remove everything that remains. Then you should get rid of the marker where the negative image was.
Step 6. Check
Return to the point of the present and assess your anxiety level again. If the feeling of fear has not disappeared, repeat all the steps again, presenting a more affirming picture of a positive event.
Thanks to these steps, we learn to "think about the good" in such a way that we really tune in to it and include positive expectations for our future.
