The Ministry of Health told whether it is possible to administer several vaccines at the same time

According to National calendar of preventive vaccinations of Ukraine, most vaccines children receive at an early age (first 18 months of life). Such a schedule allows you to protect them when they are most vulnerable to dangerous infectious diseases.

To reduce the number of visits to the doctor, several vaccines are administered at the same time, and so that the child receives fewer injections during the visit, combined vaccines are used.

A combined vaccine is a vaccine for the prevention of two or more infections combined into one. Examples of combined vaccines that are used in Ukraine include: PPE (measles-parotitis-rubella) or DTP (whooping cough-diphtheria-tetanus).
The simultaneous introduction of several vaccines or the use of multi-component vaccines is common world practice. Such an approach not only reduces the number of visits to health care facilities, but also increases the likelihood that the recommended vaccinations will be given to children in accordance with the schedule.

In the case of simultaneous use of several vaccines, vaccinations should be done in different parts of the body: for example, in the right and left shoulder, and for babies - in the right and left thigh. Buttock vaccinations are not done.
The myth that several vaccines can "overload the immune system" is widespread. However, there is irrefutable evidence that vaccines do not "overload" immunity, but cause a safe and effective reaction - create protection. In addition, antigens contained in vaccines are weakened. A child is exposed to a significantly greater load on immunity when he is sick with an infectious disease.
? More about the rules for combining vaccines and/or toxoids for the prevention of various infectious diseases in force in Ukraine can be found in order of the Ministry of Health No. 595 of 16.09.2011.
