Victory flowers: 100 million tulips near Ukrainian schools

On April 20, the second stage of the charity project for Ukrainian schoolchildren began Flowers4School. His goal is to turn every school into a blooming park, where children will study nature and restore mental health. The organizers plan to plant 10 thousand tulip bulbs near each Ukrainian school.

During the first stage of the project, in 2022, more than 5 million flower bulbs were purchased and planted in 10 educational institutions.

"Children are the future of our country, and now it is important to preserve their mental health and give them some warmth and joy. The war destroys the children's psyche, and we, adults, worry about them, giving hope that tomorrow will come and after a long winter, the same flower of victory will sprout. We dream of seeing bright flower beds near every Ukrainian school and hearing carefree children's laughter under a peaceful sky.Therefore, we invite everyone to join the fundraiser and contribute to the maintenance of the emotional state of children, so that despite the war, we can give them warm memories of their school years." — says Petr Tonenchuk, director of the Florium Foundation.

American Psychological Association ((APA), the World Federation of Mental Health (World Federation for Mental Health) and the European Association of Psychological Federations (EFPA) in their research and recommendations recognize the positive impact of planting plants and caring for them on the mental state and reducing stress in children of different ages. In the Netherlands, such a system is massively integrated into the school education system and has shown its effectiveness.

Therefore, the Flowers4School project is not only about landscaping, it is about the birth of a new life and internal restoration.

To join the fundraiser, you need to go to the site project and choose from the list for whom to make a donation: to all schools in Ukraine, schools in the region or a specific school. The cost of one bulb is UAH 10. Regardless of the amount of the contribution, each school has the opportunity to receive 10 thousand bulbs of Dutch tulips.

The list also includes schools in front-line and de-occupied cities, because children in these settlements need new positive impressions, sincere emotions and care.
