As reported in Ministry of Health, increasing the number of Ukrainians is the main priority of our country, so infertility treatment is now included in the Medical Guarantees Program and will be funded by the state.

The 2024 budget has allocated over 1,87 billion hryvnias for this purpose. These funds will allow for about 30 cycles of infertility treatment. Given that the average success rate of treatment is about 30%, we can expect the birth of about 10 new citizens of Ukraine.

“The birth rate in Ukraine has been falling for several years. The Great War worsened the situation. In order to help people who dream of experiencing the joy of parenthood, this year we launched a program for treating infertility using assisted reproductive technologies. The state will pay over 60 hryvnias for one cycle of artificial insemination. This tariff is completely market-based and allows us to attract both state and private medical institutions. Currently, 12 medical institutions have been contracted,” – says the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.
Currently, free infertility treatment services under the Medical Guarantees Program will be provided by 12 medical institutions that were recently contracted by the National Health Service of Ukraine in the following regions:

First, a woman should contact an obstetrician-gynecologist who has an agreement with the National Health Service for the “Prevention, diagnostics, observation and treatment in outpatient conditions” package. A referral is not required for this. The doctor will conduct an examination and determine the indications for IVF.

After the examination, the doctor refers the patient to a multidisciplinary consultation or to a specialized facility, where decisions are made about the possibility of receiving infertility treatment services and the absence of contraindications.

The patient has the right to independently choose the institution for receiving services from the list of institutions that have concluded an agreement with the National Health Service for medical care under the appropriate package of medical services.
