Menstruation, not "these days": an event for Menstrual Hygiene Day

May 28 at the River Mall a large-scale exhibition will be held Menstrual Hygiene Day, is designed to destroy myths, overcome stigma, and draw attention to the topic of women's health and the need to ensure access to hygiene products.

Organizers – NGO "Girls" with the support of companies Always and Dniprolab – are preparing a series of lectures, discussions, educational and entertainment activities for women, teenagers, parents, educators, and anyone concerned about the condition and well-being of women.

“We want girls to grow up in an environment where menstruation is not a cause for shame, but part of the conversation about health. Simple awareness changes the future,” comments Yulia Sporysh, director of the NGO “Girls.”

River Mall, which became a partner of the initiative and provided the space for the event, emphasizes the importance of destroying misconceptions:

"In modern society, it is no longer the norm to bypass a woman's natural physiological states. Ridiculous synonyms like "red days on the calendar," "the cat broke its nose," and so on are already (sorry for the slang) cringe." Behind this artificial puritanism lies ignorance and lack of information, which in turn can harm physical and mental health. That is why the River Mall shopping center considers it important to support such a social initiative.”

• 11:00 – Opening of the event and lecture “Menstrual Hygiene and Women's Health” by an expert from the NGO Girls;
• 12:00 – Lecture “How to talk to children about sex” from a representative of the NGO Girls;

• 14:00 PM – Lecture “Basics of Contraception” from an expert from the NGO Girls;

• 17:00 PM – Lecture “What the body is silent about: about menstrual disorders…” by Halyna Vetokh, representative of Dniprolab;
