There is a long-standing tradition of baking special cookies during Palm Week. Here is a very simple and quite tasty recipe for such cookies.
For the dough: a glass of beer (don't worry, it won't be noticeable in the finished cookies) and a glass of sunflower oil, flour - "as much as the dough will take". That is, just enough so that the dough doesn't stick to your hands, if there is more, the cookies will be tough, if there is less, you won't be able to mold them.

The dough should be rolled out thinly, the thickness of the cake should not exceed 4-5 mm, then cut out circles. Put the filling to taste in the middle: it can be jam, raisins or candied fruits. You can also wrap the cake to make it look like a willow earring. Or pinch it with a “basket”. Bake at a temperature of 180 degrees, after cooling, sprinkle with powdered sugar. By the way, these cookies can be consecrated on Palm Sunday together with willow branches.
What to prepare on the eve of Palm Sunday. On Saturday, which is called Lazarus' Saturday (in memory of the resurrection of Jesus Christ's friend Lazarus), special loaves of bread are baked. There should be as many of them as there are people in the family. Each person should have a loaf of bread. The hostess would hide a coin in one of the loaves, and the one who got it was considered to be marked by a happy fate for the entire next year. If this happiness fell to a girl in the edition, it was believed that she would get married very quickly and very successfully.
