25 Pictures of What Motherhood Really Looks Like

ToggleWhat job do you consider the most difficult and responsible? A president who leads an entire country, a bank director, or a school teacher? Nathalie Jomar, an artist and illustrator, disagrees. She believes that the most important and hardest job in the world is that of a mother. The Frenchwoman created a whole series of funny and honest illustrations to prove this to the whole world.
Natalie depicted all the problems that every woman faces immediately after giving birth and then at different stages of motherhood: how her body changes beyond recognition after childbirth, how going to the bathroom alone becomes a luxury, how the first breastfeeding and potty training occur.
These drawings are about what motherhood really looks like, and also about how hard the job of a mother, which we take for granted, really is.

Motherhood is an extremely complex and at the same time beautiful experience. It is a path that is full of both joys and difficulties. It is important to remember that every moment of motherhood is unique and unrepeatable. There is no need to idealize it, because the reality often turns out to be completely different. However, it is in this reality that all the beauty and depth of motherhood lies, and every mother learns to be the best for her child.
