5 tips on how to become an Eco-Friendly family
It only seems that being environmentally friendly is difficult. In fact, this lifestyle helps to improve not only the state of the environment, but also your personal well-being.

It just seems like it's hard to be eco-friendly. In fact, this lifestyle helps improve not only the environment, but also your personal space. And you need to instill eco-friendly principles in your children by your own example. That's why we're sharing tips on how to become an eco-friendly family.

1 Enough of collecting endless bags of garbage

An ecological lifestyle is about smart consumption, careful attitude to nature and conscious choice of everything that surrounds us: things, products, children's toys or cosmetics. Starting with yourself, you instill in children care and love for themselves and nature. If you start sorting garbage, choosing food and drinking water correctly, you will notice how the quality of your life changes for the better. And the environment will thank you with its normal natural state. Agree, you have probably heard from children more than once in the winter: “Why do we have sleds, but there is no snow outside?” The planet is gradually warming up, which leads to climate change.

The main reason for this phenomenon is the constant use of fossil fuels and inefficient energy consumption. Greenhouse gases produced by human activities increase the greenhouse effect. To slow down global warming, it is necessary to save water and electricity and to reduce litter.

Such seemingly simple things are easy to do, but for some reason not everyone is capable of it. The main problem is people's lack of awareness. Therefore, caring parents who raise new generations simply have to take care of the future through garbage sorting and conscious consumption.

2. Consume wisely

  • For the benefit of your health and the environment, choose farm-raised products, as they leave a smaller carbon footprint. Try to prepare everything yourself - pickles, homemade mayonnaise, juices, sweets. This way you will know the composition of the products and will significantly save costs and reduce waste production.
  • To reduce the use of plastic bags, go shopping with your own bags. For vegetables, fruits, and nuts, take mesh bags. If not for the sake of the environment, then at least for the sake of your own wallet, minimize the use of small disposable bags. Since last year, the authorities have banned their free distribution. Currently, the price per piece in stores is 9-10 kopecks and can increase to 3 hryvnias.
  • It's also worth creating an eco-friendly space in the kitchen. Various cereal bags or boxes of tea and coffee create clutter and unnecessary waste. It's better to store loose products in special containers, and use glass jars for preservation or pickles.
  • Another useful habit is to go picking berries and mushrooms. The whole family will enjoy a quality harvest in the winter, and children will develop an interest in nature and an understanding of its importance.

3. Dispose of trash responsibly

Adults have a greater influence on a child than anyone else, so it is important to set the right example from childhood. Sorting garbage is a great way to protect nature, take care of cleanliness and order in the house, and learn responsibility. Even children today already know that waste needs to be separated. There is nothing complicated about this - we separate plastic, glass, and paper into different containers. They can be made from cardboard boxes and placed on the balcony. But food waste is better to dispose of, because in a landfill it releases a lot of methane and toxic compounds, which spoils the condition of soils, flora, and fauna. A good solution is to make compost from it and use it as fertilizer for plants.

4. Don't throw away old things

Many people have this habit of throwing away clothes. This is unecological and uneconomical consumption. Take a closer look, perhaps these things can be repaired or are in good enough condition to be used by other people. You can alter beautiful clothes for children or donate them to charity.

5. Use natural cosmetics

Natural cosmetics are healthier and more environmentally friendly, and allow you to spend time with your children doing something interesting. For example, you can make soap, shampoo, or conditioner together. If you have unnecessary glass jars at home, they will be a great place to store homemade products.

Try to live frugally, because most of the things we buy can be made by hand or found at home. This way you will save your wallet, nature and become a great example for your own children!

Being Eco-Friendly means being in harmony with yourself and nature!
